Beloved friends and colleagues, I suspect we could use a moment of good news and I’m grateful to have some to share. I’m somewhat delayed in sending this message since we took a scouting trip to Mexico City to assess whether we need to move there. (Before you protest, I do recognize the importance of staying to defend our Constitution. That said, having spent 40 years getting out from under one predator, I’m keenly disinterested in living under the tyranny of another. It’s an open inquiry—but I digress.) The good news: We’re publishing Gamestorming 2.0 very soon and creative, collaborative offerings will ensue! The production team at O’Reilly is hard at work as I type. Many of you know this new edition was made for the post-pandemic work world, but did you also know it’s been enhanced with four new chapters and a spate of new games? We’ve earned advance praise from visual thinkers, facilitators, and luminaries like Priya Parker, Jake Knapp, Dan Roam, Jenn Lim, and Keith Ferrazzi. Long story short: It’s not too shabby. Can you guess what cover we chose? No peeking on the internet.
FYI, even if you don’t identify as a facilitator, project manager, entrepreneur, or team lead, you can use the games within to solve all kinds of problems and give friends and family moments of levity while the world wobbles on its axis. It’s not nothing—to summon collaboration in times of deep division. Please keep an eye out for offerings inspired by the new edition. We would love to see you in a gathering.
Until then, if you can, please join a No King’s Day protest tomorrow. Walk with peace in your mind and a fire in your heart.
Yours,
Sun
Was it one of the two middle covers in the middle row? I am looking forward to seeing the book!
